As per ncasolo's suggestions, I straightened out the entry into turns 2-3 to provide for some better overtaking opportunities. Also continued working out the kinks on the back half of the course, and fixed what was a clumsy entry into the last turn before the first of the two straights.

I like it. I think the track is going the wrong direction now though. The arrow is pointing the direction the track goes or to the start/finish? I would sharpen up the top of the track in to a tight hairpin like you had it on the last layout.

I like it. Looks like it should be called Pelican Raceway.

Yeah, that's just pointing to the start finish, but I see now that it looks like I've reversed the direction.

You like the hairpin at the top? I keep wondering if it's not just one small, tight corner too much. On the other hand, I like having a bit of a Casino Square feeling to that whole area with boats on the water, etc., and the hairpin helps with that.

Still debating about that slow right hander going from what was turn to into what was turn 3; I've fixed the entry into turn 3 with that bit of straight, but I wonder if I didn't kill some of the unique quality that the artist formerly known as turn 2 had with its slight bend off the straight into a very tight bend.

Sidenote for suggestions: Needs elevation changes at turns 2 (up 30ft), 5 (down 20ft), 8 (Long sweeper, 20ft), and between the right half straightaway's hairpin and and final turn coming home it needs a couple rolling hills.

Yeah I liked the hairpin at the top. We'll refer to it as Turn 9. We'll call Turn 11 another hairpin. You can eliminate that hairpin in favor of a more sweeping turn. Eliminate Turn 12 and 13 while you're at it IMO. Still leaves you with 3 more turns before the start/finish.

If I had to guess that would be classified as a 12 turn track. If you count the way I like to count I would call it a 21 turn track. There are quite a few not turn turns. I would maybe turn a couple of those not turn turns into sweepers fast enough to be counted as turns in order to eliminate the two turns I talked about in my other post.

I'll take that into consideration, as the elevation changes aren't at all final. On that note, though, the numbers just refer to total elevation above 0 ft, so +50 ft to +30 ft is actually a drop of 20 ft, not sure if that's making it through as my methodology.

Yeah, I think that's going to be my big point for the next iteration: tighten up some of the huge sweepers that are kind of non turns and make them into something that's going to require a little more finesse. I want the speed, but I want there to be some technicality in negotiating those sweepers.

Alright, we have yet another sketch. Yes, I'm making a lot of changes with each sketch, but I'm trying to work out what I do and don't like and then I'll cherry pick the best once I'm done drafting and ready to start finalizing.

I think I'd like to tighten up either the turn 11 hairpin or what was the turn 3 hairpin into something more angular/triangular as opposed to such a smooth hairpin, maybe a la Laguna Seca?

My track could use a little more flair, but here's what it looks like now that someone else has taken over rendering it.

I think your definition of Turn 3 and mine have changed. I consider the "back straight" to have originally had enough of a kink in it to be turn 2. Turn 3 was always the hairpin at the end of it. It looks like you've got a hairpin now that you're calling Turn 3 and I'm calling Turn 4.

I think you made turn 2 too open in this one. I liked how it came out in the last one. You can "have a kink" between Turn 3 and 4 I don't think the straight is long enough to create a good overtaking zone. A medium one for sure. Otherwise I like the changes.

Ah, I've got you now, and I think I may agree.
